Markham Stouffville Hospital - Child Development Programs (formally known as Beyond Words) delivers a group of programs which provide services to children from birth to kindergarten with a focus on prevention, early identification and treatment of:
  • speech & language
  • hearing
  • vision

Our site has been developed to meet the information needs of our various audiences and to enhance communication with the community we serve:

  • A Parents area with information for parents with children in our program or those interested in learning more about the programs.
  • Areas for Early Childhood Educators and Physicians that provide relevant reference materials, procedural guidelines and forms for helping professionals make effective use of our resources.

Speech & Language
York Region Preschool Speech and Language Program

YRPSLP provides help for York Region children from birth to senior kindergarten entry who have difficulty learning to communicate or to interact. The program focuses on the prevention, early identification and treatment of speech and language problems.

Tri-Regional Blind - Low Vision Early Intervention Program
Through this program, families with children who are blind or have low vision are given the resources they need to support the healthy development of their child in the first years of life.
